Account books, deeds, letters, photographs, historical writings, scrapbooks, autograph books, trade bills, receipts, broadsides, programs, pamphlets and other papers relating to people, businesses and organizations in the Setauket and East Setauket areas. Items of note include a notebook of poems, essays and letters by Thomas G. Hodgkins, 1850-1892; a judgement in the case of David Carll vs. Long Island Rubber Company of Setauket, 1881, with letters, bills, and account book and other papers about the rubber company to 1898; a daybook of Tyler and Bros., 1874-1876; material on the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library, ca.1900; a history of the Caroline Church, 1923; plus transcriptions of old church records, sermons, programs, clippings, subscription lists, bills, letters, church organization records and other materials, 1733-1966; school trustee reports, 1894 and 1898, with a list of parents in the district; and photos and postcards of Setauket pond and Setauket green, the old post office, schools, churches, the old Brewster house (subject of a painting by W. S. Mount); the piano factory, Old Field lighthouse, and other scenes, ca.1900-1940.
